Tree Planting Time

Well probably technically a few weeks late according to RHS but given how cold our spring has been and I had not been that organised or able to make up my mind... early May will just have to be OK.  

Finally after a month of considering, asking anyone and everyone (including a gardener at Arley Hall) I have opted for an apple tree - a 'Cox's Orange Pippin'.  Tasty and I understand these are going to store well, lasting through the winter!   So with any luck, one year soon I will get enough apples to need to store some.  Going around our local nursery was beautiful at this time of year with all the different fruit trees in full bloom.  A true feeling of spring.
