Kids Bathroom Swaps
Bath time with kids can defiantly still be fun without plastic!
We were given this fantastic latex rubber duck by Hevea two years ago, by a family member who has been on their own waste and plastic journey for some time. It is great and still going strong. The only bathroom toy not to be filled with black mold within in 6 weeks. It is designed with no holes so the mold does not build up inside. When it arrived the yellow colour was not as vivid as a standard plastic rubber duck, since then the yellow has faded. The kids do not seem to notice and love playing with it. It is till going strong and showing no sign of deterioration. They have since bought out a selection of other animals for the collection.
To replace body wash there are so many lovely soaps around, animals shapes, bright colours and bath bombs are just so much fun. A plastic free bath time is defiantly still as fun.
We are currently using Jack n' Jill biodegradability/compostable children's tooth brushes made of corn startch. They seem to be doing a good job. We will see what happens when we add them to our compost bins.
